The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Cambridge have come together to help reduce the mental health crisis in the country by launching a tech messaging service for individuals who are experiencing mental health issues.
The initiative would be called Shout which would be backed by Harry, Meghan, Kate, and William and would put in £3m from their Royal Foundation.
Individuals who are facing or experiencing trouble with depression, anxiety, mental health are connected with trained volunteers and would be free of cost.
Prince William stated that the family is very excited about this initiative as it provides instant support for ones who need it.
Last year, the Shout initiative during its 12 month pilot period had 1000 volunteers sign up and over 60,000 conversations took place.
The prince also stated that conversation can take place anytime and anywhere at home, at school, on the bus.
Prince Williams said at the launch event that “During the pilot period 60,000 people who were feeling alone, scared and frightened connected their phone to the shout initiative and received support.”
The initiative helps people to calm down from experiencing bullying, suicidal thoughts, relationship, and other issues.
The valunteers who are willing to help this initiative are trained by clinically certified supervisors.
